JOB POSITION: Senior Maintenance Technician

Location: Bladenboro, NC

Department: Production

Salary: Commensurate with experience

Brief Description:

This position is responsible for all maintenance activities for the small food processing (smokehouse) plant operation.  This includes maintenance management, material inventory, preventive and corrective maintenance programs, and restoring, repairing, rebuilding, or replacing faulty or inoperable components and parts.

Candidates must have strong mechanical and electrical skills and be familiar with regulatory agencies such as USDA, FDA, OSHA, and EPA. They must also possess strong leadership skills, including the ability to motivate, empower, train, and direct others.

Experience Requirements:

A minimum of five years in operations, maintenance, quality, and management is required. Strong computer skills are required.

Knowledge in the following areas is highly preferred: packaging/mechanical operation, electronics and controls, utility systems, and Freon refrigeration.

Experience in maintaining boilers, burners, ovens, spiral freezers, vertical radial scales, and vertical baggers is essential. 

Must be able to manage a continuous 24/7 operation, available for overtime work, and ready to work Saturdays when required.  This position reports directly to the Maintenance Manager.

Valid State Driver’s License Required.

Education Requirements:

A bachelor’s or associate degree in engineering or equivalent experience in a related technical field is preferred.
